Ascázubi Parish

The story goes that these lands were inhabited by the Quinchis tribe, which was numerous; throughout the area, graves have been found in the settlements that belonged to the Cayambi territory.
The parish was founded on 21 September 1913 and was located territorially that at that time was known as the Anejo de San Juan de Abanín, however, according to historical data of the constitution of the new parish, it has not been possible to determine the circumstances that motivated the settlers of the then Anejo Abanín, to baptize it as Ascázubi, highlighting as an explanation of this baptism, that of “preserving alive the memory of our heroes and exalting their illustrious memory”.
